Sarah Mazze manages the Safe Routes to School program for Eugene School District 4J. Recent projects include launching a district-wide learn to ride program that has spread throughout the region and through which nearly 2,000 students have learned to pedal; developing a transit education program; and working with 4J to include crossing guards in their Supplemental Busing Plan. Sarah’s career focus has been encouraging environmentally positive behavior change at the household, business and community level. Previously, she spent ten years as Program Manager for The Resource Innovation Group (TRIG) where she worked on increasing community level solar and energy efficiency and climate change education and outreach. She served on the City of Eugene’s Sustainability Commission and Active Transportation Committees; the Oregon Safe Routes to School Network’s Leadership Committee; the Beltline Community Advisory Committee; and Lane County’s Statewide Transportation Improvement Fund Advisory Committee; and the Lane Area Commission on Transportation. She is currently a member of the City of Eugene’s Vision Zero Technical Advisory Committee. She holds Masters in Environmental Studies and Journalism and a certificate in Nonprofit Management from the University of Oregon and a BS in Pyschology from Northwestern University.
